The Shoe Doctor

This a mobile Klinik Kasut or Shoe Clinic. The 'doctor' sits patiently waiting for his 'patients' to arrive.
He works fast, to fix a broken heel, all he needs is 5 minutes and he only charges RM 3 for it. It's a one-man show.
Having your heels broke while you were walking or stepping on a nail is a modern hazard. While you are in these situations, it certainly helps when the friendly 'doctor' is near.

Cooks United

There are a few Shanghainese and Chinese restaurants that currently have such interesting 'window diplay'. Instead of showcasing the finished food or the menu, they present the stars behind the scene - the cooks.
I guess it's to showcase how clean the kitchen and utensils are and how skilful the chefs are. The chefs are normally seen making those delicate dim sums, chinese noodles or other pastries.
Looking at how these people work simply fascinates me. The details, the concentration that goes into every dumpling is mesmerising. These chefs, obviously used to the attention, do not turn an eye on the bystanders. They don't even smile when they look up occasionally. Well I guess when you are in a fish-tank kinda evironment, you just wanna finish your work and get out asap.

Meditation

Spotted this lady meditating at a temple. There were much hustle and bustle around but she remained still and cool. Probably chanting some mantra in her head to keep the distractions as bay.
I have not tried meditation but think it will be an uphill task for a person who can't sit still for long. Like yours truly.
Do you meditate?

Avid Reader

Little reader at the magazine shop at PJ state. It's rare to see kids reading at the sidewalk since the number of little magazine / bookshops are dwindling.
Parents rather bring their kids to the cool, spacious bookshops in the malls.
There will be a KL Book Fest happening this weekend. Yoohoo :)

Singers of Section 14

These singers are blind. I think they have been performing at the same place for some time.
I didn't dare to take the picture up close in case they feel offended. Although they couldn't see me, I think they would know as well.

Baby Champion

Come out, come out wherever you are..
Isn't he cute? :) Complete with his baby football jersey, football water bottle.
I love seeing babies wearing football jerseys.. simply adorable!!
No wonder everyone is saying to start kids young..I guess this one's going to be a famous footballer when he grows up.
It has been raining quite a bit these 2 days. Hope PJ won't get flooded.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Flashy Foot Wear

How many things would you wear on your feet?
I thought the wedges this young lady was quite interesting, coupled with the nail art and 2 anklets.. the whole ensemble seemed..a bit busy. Well.. I am no longer part of this generation to understand :)
What do you wear on your feet, minus the socks n shoes?

Getting Ready

Local TV station is holding a football reality show for kids. I took this during their audition few weeks ago. The turn out was very encouraging. All the kids came prepared with shin guards, knee guards and the complete ala-professional-footballer-attire. They were in high spirits and looked as if they were ready to play for world cup.
Although there had been complaints recently about the progress of football in our country, it is still one of the most popular sport. And certainly one of the most inspiring.

Girl At Window

Taken on the LRT. What big round eyes she has. The building on the far right is tallest building in PJ State area. I think the city council is situated there. The LRT was moving towards Taman Jaya station. I used to take LRT to this station everyday to work. My ex-office is in the white building seen in the middle.
When it's lighted at night, the building looks like a giant tombstone, since it has gigantic chinese writings on it as well. Looks kinda eerie sometimes.
Do you have such buildings in your city?
