CNY 12 - One in a Million

This is the last post on CNY plants. I don't know the name of this plant, but suspect it's a cross breed between the money plant and the pineapple :p Can you spot the resemblance?
Many of the CNY plants will just bloom during the 1 month period. After which they either wither or bloom after a long time. I prefer the non-seasonality plants. Currently the mini-chili plant on my balcony is not doing too well..I hope it survives :( Despite me talking to them every morning and calling them by unique names, sometimes they just refuse to cooperate.
Do you have any secrets to grow strong plants?

Could it be a sort of clivia?
Plants need enough water but not too much...and often a lot of light but not to be in the sun...

The plant is called Bromeliad. This is a little difficult plant to take care of (for me). Though my family in the Philippines have many of them, I think the weather is a factor too =)

It looks like a pineapple because they are of the same family. Its lovely in yellow, I often see only red.

I've enjoyed your posts on plants. Top tip for plant care - don't over water. Most pot plants like to be on the dry side, over watering kills more plants than anything else :)

With lotsa tender loving care would help your plants to grow well! I used to talk often to my plants and they bloom very well (especially the orchids). But now...due to tight schedule I have not been caring for them and they are in sad condition. So talk and care often for them & they will bloom and grow well!
