Mid Autumn Festival

The festival of mooncakes and lanterns!
These are still traditional lanterns where they are made from bamboo and colored paper. There is a little metal stand for the candle to be lit. The lantern will be tied to a stick and children can carry them around. Normally the kids will walk around the neighbourhood in groups carrying these lanterns as part of the mid autumn festival celebration. The adults wll sit together enjoying tea and mooncake.
Nowadays there are battery operated ones made of plastic. Not as fun as it used to be though.

I like the lanterns made of bamboo and paper better too. These designs are so pretty! But I see that Spiderman has made his way in there — not quite traditional 'no? ;D

In the midst of all of those beautiful fish, birds, and butterflies there is... Spiderman?!!

Nice lanterns, Murphy_jay! This time around I haven't come across across shop selling lanterns in Subang Jaya. Alas, didn't have any lantern photos to post for Mid-Autumn Festival. Yours look great!
