Clamped!

When a driver 'misbehaves' at a parking lot, normally the punishment comes fast. This is the first time I am seeing this type of mobile clamps. The car was parked in the middle of the road. Therefore before the clamp is released, the little wheels on the clamps allow the car to be pushed somewhere else.
The fine is usually RM 50.

Rings of color

There are no limits when it comes to jewelleries, fashion and shoes to women. The universal mystery to men is why do women buy the same design of things only to be told : But they are in different colors, honey!
LOL.
And yet we often say men are visual-driven animals, if women don't always come up with different things for men to look at, they are bound to get bored. At least this is what some women are telling me.
Whether it's to attract the opposite or to mix the new bag you bought, I believe colors bring out the excitement and fun in you. Having said that, you don't have to dress like a rainbow to be happy. Guess a little change will do the trick.

Keeping money the colourful way

Spotted this stall which sells colourful coinboxes and toys in a weekend bazaar at The Curve.
Having one of these will make saving something interesting for kids.

Ultra Stuck

Part of a sculpture exhibited at the recent Urbanscapes. Work of a local artist.
I like the interesting idea of the powerful Ultraman actually being stuck, held by strings. Suddenly the once SuperHero becomes a puppet. Not sure what was in the artist mind when this was created. Probably to show all humans, even SuperHumans have their limits? :)

Kitty Mobile

Spotted this Kitty Mobile in Damansara. The owner must be a no.1 Hello Kitty Fan. 
Generally the vehicle owners here do not 'decorate' their cars. Now and then we are surprised to see some artistic divers who pasted some nice graphics on their cars. I think modification is more their thing..

Lego

Can you see what is at the end of the tunnel?

Lego having their roadshow at one of the malls. Many of us grow up playing Lego. I love playing them, but most of my constructions are all 'abstract masterpieces'. :P Can't really build those nice houses, ships, animals shown at the Lego boxes. Still lego is fun and educational.

Shoe Mill

A cool and space friendly way to store your shoes. Won't need the shoe boxes as well. Nice innovation. It reminds me of the little mills that are placed in hamster cases :)

Enlightenment

Today is Wesak Day. The day of birth, passing and enlightenment of Gautama Buddha. One of the major celebrations for Buddhists.
Temples provide the lotus candles above for devotees' donation.
Most pray for good health and prosperity.
With the calamities in Myanmar and China, let's pray that sufferings and pain will be healed with hope and peace soon.

When I grow up, I want to be a Merc

Proton Waja is one of our national cars. This owner obviously had higher aspirations. The car's original logo was plastered with a Mercedes Benz logo. Still it doesn't change much about the car

Earth-Friendly Burger

There was a mini roadshow during world earth day earlier on. Among the many booths promoting earth-friendly products, there was one that sold what I called - Baby Green Burgers. The size of the burger is smaller than what we get at fast food joints, but more nutritious and earth-friendly.
Global warming is not a new thing to locals, however many still do not practise or do their part to save the earth. Hopefully with these roadshows, people will start to realise, even if it's just reducing the number of plastics in your home, when everyone does it, we can make a change.

Any takers? These are miniature food. Sold at flea markets. The last time I saw these was in the market at Bangkok. Guess there's where they import these from.

Sweet & Sour

Jeruk - or preserved fruits are quite popular among the ladies here as tidbits. Salt and sugar would be the main seasoning I guess. Some are sweet, some are sour. There are preserved mango, guava, papayas and many others which I am not sure what they are made off.

I never like them though. I prefer preserved vegies, those that can be cooked.

Balloons

Balloons are common in all the local carnivals. Something like a must-have for all kids.

I still prefer the coventional ones with just plain colors. As a kid, I have always wished that by holding on to a bunch of balloons, I can fly up and away. :)

It never came true, and I have always wondered if it's all the chocolates and sweets that I took that made me too heavy for the balloons to take off.. haha..

The voices of Malaysians are heard. As we herald the new wave of change, many are still holding the breath, not daring to be too optimistic.
Whatever the results maybe for the next 5 years, I am sure everyone feels that changing is better than being stagnant.

This was taken from the cash register at a new cafe called Wondermilk. They tailored the message to fit with their name. Cute.
Most adults here don't drink milk often. It's just not our culture. I still like milk though. I was still drinking from the bottle in primary school :)

What to eat today?

This the menu for traditional chinese restaurants. Instead of putting them in a booklet, the dishes are all listed on the wall. Not many refer to it though, most will refer to the waiter / waitress or just ask for the specialities. What you see here are mainly seafood cuisines.

Things People Keep In Their Backyard

We have seen sportscars, superbikes, trash, old furnitures in backyards. But I bet not many have a double decker bus parked nicely in their compound.
This is an old house in Sect 14. Maybe the bus was used to take the family on outings.

Sweet House of Mine

These are actually contest entries. The basic 'House' was given to kids who would decorate them with candies and biscuits according to their imagination. Cool huh.
I wish there were these contests when I was young.
