The mannequin and the sale banner were placed at the staircase leading to the boutique above. Perhaps a more lively promoter would be better to attract customers to venture upstairs to have a look.

An apt visual observation, Murphy. To me, manequin (I hope I spell it correctly) is always attractive - for their pose, posture, and gesture. Have quite a number of pictures about it. :)
A head might help. I thin that would probably scare potential customers away.
